iObeya User Guide Meetings and Creative Sessions

Participating in a Brainstorming Session

Have you been invited to participate in a brainstorming session? During the session, you are able to contribute your ideas individually. You can participate using a large interactive display, computer, tablet, or smartphone.

  1. Access the room while there is an ongoing brainstorming session.

As soon as a team member starts configuring a brainstorming session, all participants in the room are notified that a session is beginning soon.

Joining from a large interactive display, computer, or tablet.

If a session started before you signed in iObeya, any room with ongoing creative sessions is placed at the top of the list of rooms on the home page.

    Joining from a smartphone

If you are using a smartphone, you may also scan the QR code shared on the facilitator screen to join the session.

The brainstorming interface has been optimized for use on smartphones, to simplify the capturing of ideas onto sticky notes, and to give easy access to many team members at once.

  2. Enter your ideas.

Once the session is launched by the meeting facilitator, it is your turn to capture your ideas. The interface is optimized to ease:

    • Idea entry
    • Changing standard note type (note types are defined by the meeting facilitator)

You can review your entries, edit them, or delete them, directly in the interface. The session theme is defined by the meeting facilitator.

The icon icon-16 on the top right of the screen indicates that you are participating in a brainstorming session. The time remaining in the session is also indicated.

The notes that you fill out are only visible to you until the facilitator has ended the session.

  3. End a brainstorming session.

You receive a notification once the facilitator has ended the session. Ideas entered by the participants are displayed on the board, and organized by users, so that they can be handled in sequence. Each idea proposed by a participant appears in the main text field of a note.

If the room was in guided navigation before the brainstorming session started, the navigation continues after the session has ended.
