I was told about "Public Rooms". Please tell me more.
Below an explanation of how to recognize public rooms and what their specificities are.
From the administration interface, you can also look in the column "visibility”.
Most importantly however is to understand what a “public room” represents in iObeya:
- Any user added to the domain containing the room can access the room if given the url.
- It will NOT appear in their list of rooms if a user does not have permissions for this room.
A public room can contain both Public and Private boards, but only public ones will be accessible. - If not a current user of the room, a user will only have Read-Only permissions. To make modifications to a board, you must be added by the room administrator.
One major advantage is that you can provide access to information to many users without adding them as users to the room (saving time and avoiding user limitation concerns).
