Installing an add-on

The iObeya add-ons can be installed and managed from the platform administration interface. Please refer to the corresponding section of the Administrator Guide for procedures and details.

Updating an add-on

During the iObeya platform update

When you update your iObeya platform, you also need to update your add-ons to the latest version compatible with the version of iObeya your are installing. You can download the latest version of the add-ons on the iObeya Resource Center.

Warning

This procedure is an extra step of the standard upgrade procedure of iObeya requiring to stop the application server first. Please refer to the corresponding section of the iObeya Upgrade Guide for details.

Here are the steps required to update your add-ons while updating iObeya:

  1. Clean the plugin cache by deleting the contents of the following directories:
    • cacheDirectory/bundled-plugins
    • cacheDirectory/plugins-cache
    • cacheDirectory/osgi-cache
    • cacheDirectory/plugins-temp
  2. Remove the old version of your add-ons from the pluginsDirectory directory (by default dataDirectory/plugins).
  3. Add the new version of your add-ons in the pluginsDirectory directory (by default dataDirectory/plugins).

Without updating the iObeya platform

  1. From the Resource Center, download the add-on version you need.

    Warning

    Verifiy that this version is compatible with your iObeya platform version in the Additional infos section.

  2. From Add-ons in Admin platform,

  3. Click Upload an add-on.

  4. Select the add-on .jar file.

  5. Click Install.

A confirmation message appears. The add-on is updated.
